Orli Shoshan (Hebrew: אורלי שושן; born July 23, 1974) is an Israeli film actress best known for her performance as the Togruta Jedi Master Shaak Ti in the 1999–2005 Star Wars prequel trilogy. It is believed that Shaak Ti's expertise in melee combat is in homage to Orli Shoshan, a former member of the Israeli Defense Forces and a skilled hand-to-hand combat and melee weapons artist.

Early life

Orli Shoshan was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel. At the age of 18 she was conscripted into the Israeli Army, in which she served for almost two years. After her military service, she began working for an Israeli airline, which brought her to the United States and then to Chicago, Illinois, where she currently resides. During her employment for El Al Israel Airlines Ltd, she grew a great passion for traveling when visiting places such as India, Thailand, and Australia. Orli Shoshan grew most fond of the Australian people and way of life, so she decided to move to Sydney, Australia.

Early career

In Sydney, she began her successful modeling career enjoying print work in magazines and catalogues, then on the runway as well as many television commercials. All of this eventually culminated into her acting role in the popular sci-fi franchise "Star Wars." Orli Shoshan played the exotic Togruta Jedi Master Shaak Ti in the Star Wars space opera films Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith in the 1999–2005 saga prequel trilogy. Early Life:

Shaak Ti was a Torgrutan Jedi brought into the Jedi order at a young age. She was noted for being incredibly Graceful and Calm.

After being granted the title of Knight, Shaak Ti replaced Jedi Master Yaddle on the Jedi Council.

The Battle of Geonosis:

Shaak Ti was one of the Jedi Masters brought into the Geonosian arena in 22 BBY. She was also one of the only Jedi to survive, blustering her reputation highly.

Clone Wars:

After serving a short term on the Jedi Council, Shaak Ti was promoted to Jedi General after her contribution during th Battle of Geonosis, being on of the few Jedi to survive the conflict.

Shaak Ti fought in several conflicts across the Clone Wars, most notably the Battle of Kamino.

After the Republic Military intercepted message between Separatists Leader General Grievous and Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress discussing a future planned attack on Kamino.

Shaak Ti and Lama Su greeted Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker when they arrived on Kamino with Clone Troopers.

A Separatist fleet soon arrived and engaged the Republic blockade that was on Kamino.

Ti monitored the progress of the battle from Tipoca City's control room alongside Kenobi.

She ordered Skywalker to lead the Republic's fighters in assaulting the enemy. Several star frigates were destroyed protecting Grievous' flagship, with their debris crashing in the ocean.

Shaak Ti was a femaleTogrutaJedi Master, hailing from the planet Shili, serving as a member of the Jedi Order during the waning years of the Galactic Republic. Joining the Jedi High Council in the years before the Clone Wars, she took up the ranks of General within the Grand Army of the Republic and was tasked with the oversight of clone trooper training on the ocean world Kamino.

As a Jedi Councilor, Master Shaak Ti was involved in many epic conflicts during the Clone Wars, including planning and engaging in the opening salvo on Geonosis. In addition, Master Ti was instrumental in the First and Third Battles of Kamino, where she helped to protect the future generations of clone troopers growing at the facilities, as well as during the Battle of Hypori, where she became one of the few Jedi to survive an encounter with the feared GeneralGrievous. Master Ti was known to have dueled and defeated one of CountDooku'sDark Acolytes, Artel Darc, before which she served with distinction during the conflict on Brentaal IV.
