    Indian businessman

    Venu Srinivasan is an Indian industrialist, he is the chairman emeritus of two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company and auto components manufacturer TVS Holdings. In addition, he serves on the board of Tata Sons and as one of the vice-chairmen of Tata Trusts. He received the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award, in January 2020.

    He started and oversees Srinivasan Services Trust (SST), a social outreach trust which works in more than 2,500 villages in India. Its focus areas are societal development through development of women and children, water conservation, improving livelihoods through agriculture & livestock and preservation & conservation of environment.

    Mallika Srinivasan (born 19 November 1959) is an Indian industrialist and is the chairman and managing director of Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, a tractor major incorporated in 1960 at Chennai, India. She served as Chairperson of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) constituted by the Government of India from 1 April 2021 and served there till 18 November 2025. She is additionally on the Global Board of U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC), and the Boards of AGCO Corporation - United States. She is a core member of the BRICS Women's Business Alliance (BRICS WBA) and a member of India-US CEO Forum. She is also the member on the Governing Body of Stella Maris College - Chennai.

    She earned her degree in mathematics from the Women's Christian College and later was a university gold-medalist in Econometrics from the University of Madras, she graduated as a member of the Dean's Honor List, and the Alpha Beta Gamma Society, from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, and was ranked as one of its top 125 most successful alumni.

    Career

    Mallika Srinivasan established TAFE as a mass manufacturer of tractors. She led the company's growth to its present status with revenues in excess of Rs. 10,000 Crores with diverse interests in tractors, farm machinery, diesel engines, generators, engineering plastics, hydraulic pumps and cylinders, automobile franchises and plantations.

    She led a variety of industry bodies such as the Tractor Manufacturers' Association of India, the Madras Chamber of Commerce and has held various positions in industry bodies such as the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.

    TVS Motor Company is an Indian multinationalmotorcycle manufacturer headquartered in Chennai. It is the third-largest motorcycle company in India by revenue. The company has annual sales of three million units and an annual production capacity of over four million vehicles. TVS Motor Company is also the second largest two-wheeler exporter in India with exports to over 60 countries.

    History

    T. V. Sundram Iyengar began with Madurai's first bus service in 1911 and founded TVS, a company in the transportation business with a large fleet of trucks and buses under the name of Southern Roadways.

    Early history

    Sundaram Clayton was founded in 1962 in collaboration with Clayton Dewandre Holdings, United Kingdom. It manufactured brakes, exhausts, compressors and various other automotive parts. The company set up a plant at Hosur in 1976, to manufacture mopeds as part of their new division. In 1980, TVS 50, India's first two-seater moped rolled out of the factory at Hosur in Tamil Nadu, India. A technical collaboration with the Japanese auto giant Suzuki Ltd. resulted in the joint-venture between Sundaram Clayton Ltd and Suzuki Motor Corporation, in 1987. Commercial production of motorcycles began in 1989.

    Suzuki relationship

    TVS and Suzuki shared a one-year-long relationship that was aimed at technology transfer for design and manufacture of two-wheelers specifically for the Indian market. Re-christened TVS-Suzuki, the company brought out several models such as the Suzuki Supra, Suzuki Samurai, Suzuki Shogun and Suzuki Shaolin. In 2001, after separating ways with Suzuki, the company was renamed TVS Motor, relinquishing its rights to use the Suzuki name.
